Potter's Story

I first started my journey with clay at school. I was always happiest when I was in the pottery room making things.

From school I went on to study pottery at college. I studied A Level Ceramics and attained the highest mark in my class.

After my exams I secured a position of Ceramic Technician in the College a post I held for 17 years. This provided me with a knowledge of how to run a ceramics room, re-claiming clay, pugging clay, mixing glazes from raw ingredients and firing and maintaining the kilns.

Some 30 years later and I am a passionate home potter living near the Lickey Hills, firing creations in my electric and raku kilns. Hand building is my forte but I am also skilled in wheel throwing. Hailing from Nottingham originally, This year I was lucky enough to be featured as one of the 12 potters on The Great Pottery Throwdown series 8. My studio is always open for commissions, reach out via email to discuss your bespoke pottery needs.
